ASCE wind region lookup and evidence image
How the automatic ASCE lookup works, how to use its evidence image, and what to do if it fails.
Section 2 of the 2026 Wind Mitigation form asks for the property's wind region, based on design wind speed. InspectionPress looks it up for you.
How it works
- The lookup runs automatically when you add the first Wind Mitigation report to a purchased property.
- It uses ASCE 7-22 hazard data for the property's location.
- The result is reused for any additional Wind Mitigation reports in the same job.
- The report card shows the lookup's status, such as "ASCE: Preparing" or the finished result.
The evidence image
Select the ASCE status on the report card to open ASCE Wind Region Research. From there you can:
- Download Evidence Image, a branded image of the lookup result for the property
- add a reference color or note for your own records
ASCE evidence images attached to published reports are also included in the property archive download.
Region options
| Option | Design wind speed |
|---|---|
| HVHZ | High-Velocity Hurricane Zone |
| Region 1 | 140 mph or greater |
| Region 2 | 130 to 139 mph |
| Region 3 | Less than 130 mph |
If the lookup fails
If the ASCE service doesn't return a usable result, the card shows an error and no automatic retry is made. Choose the region manually in section 2 of the writer, after checking the design wind speed with ASCE's public Hazard Tool or another reliable source. Contact support if the error doesn't clear.
The lookup assists you; it doesn't replace your verification of the property's location and region.
