Print LBX attic measurement labels
Print a dated ruler label for each Wind Mitigation inspection and use it in roof-deck nail-spacing photos.
An LBX label is a printed ruler with the property address and inspection date. Place it next to roof-deck fasteners when you photograph nail spacing, so an underwriter can see the measurement and know which inspection the photo belongs to.
What you need
- A compatible Brother thermal label printer and label media
- Brother's label printing software or app on your phone or computer
The label is optional. You don't need a printer to complete a Wind Mitigation report.
Create and print the label
- Open the Wind Mitigation report in the writer.
- Make sure the inspection date is set, so it prints on the label.
- Choose the green LBX button in the toolbar.
- Open the label file in Brother's software and print it.
On an iPhone or iPad, the label opens through Safari so it can be passed to Brother's app.
Take a good nail-spacing photo
- Place the label flat against the decking, with the ruler alongside the line of fasteners.
- Make sure the address and date on the label are readable in the photo.
- Take a wide shot for location, then a close-up for spacing.
- Add the photos to the Wind Mitigation report's photo area.
Why it helps
A dated, property-specific label ties each attic photo to one inspection. That's more convincing to an underwriter than a tape measure alone or a mark on the framing that could be from any visit.
