Frequently asked questions

Start with the 25 most common questions about property research, Florida insurance forms, AI, reports and the $6 job price. More answers remain available below.

Before You Buy

What is InspectionPress?

For $6 per property job, you get property data, permit history, an automatically prepared Property Research Report, 25 AI requests and every report writer that applies to the property, including Full Home Inspection and Florida insurance forms. Learn more.

How much does InspectionPress cost?

$6 per property job. That includes the research, the Property Research Report, 25 AI requests, all applicable report writers and unlimited revisions for that job. The pay-per-job option requires no subscription and has no per-report fee.

What counts as one property job?

One purchase covers your work at one address for one job, including every report and revision for it. A separate job at the same address later, such as a new inspection for a different client, is a new $6 purchase. See examples.

Is there a subscription or monthly fee?

Not for the current pay-per-job option. You pay when you purchase a property job, with no recurring monthly charge or minimum commitment for that option. The separately offered InspectionPress Platform has its own pricing.

Who can use InspectionPress?

Home inspectors, real estate professionals, appraisers, contractors and other property professionals. Anyone can use the research tools; regulated inspection and insurance forms must be completed and signed by a qualified professional. Learn more.

Do I need a license to buy a property job?

No. You need the appropriate qualifications only for regulated reports you complete or sign. Buying a job doesn't grant a license, and InspectionPress doesn't verify credentials. Learn more.

Can a homeowner use InspectionPress to complete their own insurance form?

No. InspectionPress isn't a homeowner self-certification tool. Florida insurance forms must be completed and signed by a professional authorized for that form. Homeowners can receive the finished report from their inspector.

Can I try it before I pay?

Yes. Creating an account is free, and every account includes a sample property where you can explore the property page, research report and report writers. Here's how.

Is InspectionPress available outside Florida?

Yes. Property research, the Property Research Report, the AI Lab and the Full Home Inspection writer work in all 50 states and DC. The Four Point, Wind Mitigation and Roof Certification writers are for Florida properties. See coverage.

Do I have to switch from my current inspection software?

No. Many inspectors keep their existing software and use InspectionPress for Florida insurance forms or property research. You can also import a Spectora template. Learn more.

Will you sell my information or market to my clients?

No. We don't sell your report data or client information, and we never use your clients' details to market to them or solicit business. Read our commitments.

Does InspectionPress work on my phone? Does it work offline?

Yes, it works in your phone's browser, and the mobile writer is built for on-site work. You currently need an internet connection. An installable offline field mode is in development.

Which insurance companies accept your Florida forms?

Florida law requires admitted insurers to accept a valid Uniform Mitigation Verification form signed by an authorized inspector, subject to verification. The Wind Mitigation writer uses the current OIR-B1-1802 (Rev. 04/26) form. Four Point and Roof Certification requirements are set by each insurer. No software can guarantee acceptance of an incomplete or ineligible form.

Getting Started

How do I create an account?

Go to Create Account, enter your email and a password of at least 12 characters, accept the terms, then confirm your email using the link we send you. Step-by-step guide.

Why do I have to verify my email before buying?

What is the sample property?

A free property in every account so you can explore research, the Property Research Report and the report writers before buying. Features that use paid outside services are turned off for it. You can reset it or hide it at any time. Take the tour.

In Account settings. Add your name, company and license under Professional profile, then upload your company logo, profile photo and handwritten signature. Profile guide.

Can I sign in with Face ID, Touch ID or Windows Hello?

Yes. Add a passkey in Account settings under Passkeys. Your password keeps working, and your fingerprint or face never leaves your device. Learn more.

Properties & Jobs

How do I add a property?

Choose New Property, search for the address or enter it manually, add a unit number if needed, then review and pay. Step-by-step guide.

What if the address search can't find my property?

Choose Enter address manually and type the full street address, city, state and ZIP. This works well for new construction and rural addresses.

Can I change the address after I've paid?

You can fix small mistakes, such as a typo, while reports are still drafts. A job can't be moved to a different property. If you bought the wrong address, contact support with the property and purchase details.

Can I correct property data that's wrong?

Yes. Use the pencil icon on any field in the Information tab. Your correction is saved for your job, and the original provider value stays visible underneath. Learn more.

How do I download everything for a property?

Open the property, choose Downloads, then Download property archive ZIP. It includes property data, evidence images and your published reports. See what's inside.

Research & Permits

Where does the property data come from?

Property characteristics and sale history come from RentCast, permits from BuildFax and other available records, and wind data from ASCE. Jurisdiction links come from the InspectionPress directory. Learn more.

If no permit appears, does that mean there isn't one?

No. Permit coverage varies by provider and jurisdiction. An empty result means the source didn't return a match. Check the building department's records before drawing any conclusion. What to do next.

Research & Permits

Does an "Active" permit status mean the permit is still open?

Not necessarily. Status wording comes from the data source and varies by agency, and it may not reflect a final inspection or closeout. Confirm status on the building department's portal when it matters. How to read permits.

Is the Property Research Report an inspection?

No. It's an organized research reference built from available records, your notes and any AI analyses you choose to include. It doesn't certify a property's condition and isn't an insurance form.

Can real estate agents use the Property Research Report for listings?

Yes, as a research reference for listing preparation and client conversations. Verify material statements and don't present it as an inspection. Learn more.

AI Lab

How many AI requests do I get?

25 per property job, shared across every AI Lab tool and the AI features in the report writers. Your remaining count appears in the AI Lab. What counts as a request.

Can I buy more AI requests?

No. There's no paid top-up. When you reach 25, you can still write, edit, publish and revise reports; only new AI generations stop.

Does editing an AI result use another request?

No. Editing saved text, choosing which results appear in the research report and viewing previous results are all free. Generating a new result uses one request.

Does AI replace my professional judgment?

No. AI tools support your research and writing. Verify facts, permit status, recalls and any safety or value statements before relying on them, and never let AI answer a regulated form for you. Use AI responsibly.

Which reports can I create?

Does the ASCE lookup fill in the wind region for me?

It looks up the region automatically for the first Wind Mitigation report on a purchased property and provides an evidence image. You still confirm the answer. If the lookup fails, you can choose the region manually. Learn more.

Yes. Verified active InterNACHI members pay $5 per property job instead of $6. Membership must be verified through InterNACHI's connection; entering a member number alone isn't enough.

Do you offer promo codes or volume pricing?

Enter a promo code at checkout under Have a promo code? For high volume or advance purchases, contact us and choose Volume and advance-purchase pricing.

What is the refund policy?

Property jobs are one-time digital purchases and are generally final once activated. We refund duplicate charges and charges where a verified InspectionPress error kept the property from activating, and honor any refund rights required by law. Details.

What if the inspection is canceled?

If you haven't activated the job yet, there's nothing to pay. Once a job is activated, it's tied to that property and isn't a transferable credit for a different address.

What if I was charged but my property didn't activate?

Don't pay again. Contact support with the property address and purchase time so we can match the payment and activate the property or refund the charge.

Is the full InspectionPress Platform included in the $6?

No. Scheduling, CRM, invoicing, agreements and team portals are part of the separate InspectionPress Platform, priced by quote. Compare them.
