Revise a report after publishing

What you can change after publishing, what's locked, and how to fix a genuine identity mistake.

Revisions are unlimited for every report in your job, before and after publishing.

What you can change

  • Findings, narratives and recommendations
  • Answers on insurance forms
  • Photos, permits and other evidence
  • Comments and notes

Open the report with Edit Report, make your changes, then check the result with View Report. The hosted link shows the updated report.

What's locked after publishing

Certain identity fields, such as the property address, client and inspector, are locked once a report is published. This keeps a purchased report from being reissued for a different client or property.

Fixing a genuine mistake

  • Before publishing: correct the details in the report or on the property page.
  • After publishing: contact support with the property address and what needs to change. Don't include sensitive client information in your first message.

A new job isn't a revision

Revisions are for the original job. A new inspection at the same address for a different client, or a new visit months later, is a new $6 job.

Keep recipients current

PDFs that were already downloaded don't change. After a revision, send the updated PDF. Use PDF version history to see every version you've generated.

Verify property records and professional requirements with the appropriate official source.More in Publishing & Sharing
