Use jurisdiction (AHJ) links to find the right building department
How the jurisdiction directory works, how to use its links, and why a match isn't a legal determination.
The Jurisdictions tab lists links for the authorities that may cover the property, often called the AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction): building departments, permit portals and the property appraiser.
How links are organized
Links are grouped by city and county. Each shows the agency, the type of link (for example, permits or property appraiser) and where the link came from. Expand Other available links to see alternatives for the same agency.
Copy-and-search shortcut
When you open a link, InspectionPress copies the street number and name to your clipboard. Paste it straight into the agency's search box.
Where links come from
The directory combines an original Florida AHJ directory, official government research, nationwide discovery, AI-assisted research and entries suggested by InspectionPress users. Labels such as "verify source" or "unverified" tell you how much checking a link has had. Coverage is deepest in Florida today.
Rate links to improve them
Use the up and down rating buttons on a link to say whether it worked. Ratings help us prioritize corrections. They're community feedback, not official verification.
Know the limits
A mailing city doesn't always decide which agency handles permits. Properties near city limits or in unincorporated areas may fall under the county. A directory match is a convenient starting point, not a legal determination. If a search finds nothing, try the other agency before concluding a record doesn't exist.
