Working in the report writer: layout, toolbar and saving
How the writers are organized, what the toolbar buttons do, and how your work is saved.
Open a report
On the property page, choose Edit Report on any report card. On a computer you'll see a QR code to continue on your phone. Choose Continue on desktop to keep working on the computer. See Work from your phone with the mobile writer.
How writers are organized
- Wind Mitigation follows the official form section by section, from Information and Building Code through Opening Protection and Inspector Information. Each section can be expanded or collapsed.
- Four Point uses tabs: General, Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, Roof and Comments.
- Full Home is organized by sections and findings, with photos and recommendations attached to each finding.

| Button | What it does |

| Form Preview | Generates and opens the report PDF |
| LBX | Creates the attic measurement label (Wind Mitigation only). See Print LBX attic measurement labels. |
| Show all hints | Shows the help text under every answer |

Research menu
The Research icon at the top of the writer opens the AHJ Directory, Narrative Library, private reference photos (CYA Photos), Recall Checker and Serial Number Lookup.
Saving
Your work saves as you go, so you don't need to press a save button after each answer. You need an internet connection for changes to save. Watch for connection problems on site, and don't close the writer until changes have saved.
Help on any page
Open Help in the writer to search help for the page you're on.
